Xiaomi started 2024 with the launch of the Redmi Note 13 series, which is going on sale on January 10, 2024. Along with Redmi OnePlus also unveiled the OnePlus 12 ad confirmed its launch on January 23. As every smartphone is active how come Vivo could leave this opportunity, they also launched the Vivo x100 series which was earlier launched in China and will be launching on January 4 following Redmi’s Note 13 series launch.

Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Under the hood, the device is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It has up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ has a triple camera setup with a 200-megapixel Samsung HP3 f/1.65 primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The smartphone also has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The Note 13 Pro+ comes with a 5000mAh battery and 120W fast charging support.

The Vivo X100 series features a 6.78-inch OLED display with curved edges and a center-aligned hole punch. The resolution of the display is 1.5 thousand pixels. It will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The devices are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC paired with UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5x RAM. The 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant of both phones has LPDDR5T RAM. It has a triple camera setup of 50MP Main camera, 50MP Wide angle and 50MP telephoto lens.

The Vivo X100 has a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The Pro model has a larger 5400mAh cell with slightly slower 100W wired charging but supports 50W wireless charging, which is missing from the standard model. They also have an IP68 rating, which makes them water and dust-resistant.

The OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch QHD+ (3168 x 1440 pixels) 120Hz 3D AMOLED LTPO display. In addition, a maximum brightness of 4500 nits, a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, a 93.5% screen-to-body ratio, Dolby Vision support and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection is provided. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC powers the OnePlus 12 with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Additionally, the OnePlus device has a triple camera system on the back that includes a 50MP f/1.6 Sony LYT-808 primary sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide sensor, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS. On the front, there is a 32 MP IMX615 f/2.4 sensor for taking selfies and video calls.

The OnePlus 12 is already out in China, and it will launch in India on January 23. The price of the OnePlus 12 series has not been leaked yet. This is the smartphone in the list of Upcoming Smartphones in January 2024 that I am most excited about.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series (January 18)

Everything about the Galaxy S24 lineup has been leaked, from design to specifications and colour options. It is also being said that the prices of the S24 series will remain the same as the S23 series. It remains to be seen whether this is true for the Indian region as well.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra appears to have a slightly improved design, as does the Galaxy S23 Ultra compared to the S22 Ultra. This time, the S24 Ultra features a titanium frame with similar bezels on the display. It is also available in new colours including Titanium Black, Titanium Grey, Titanium Purple and Titanium Yellow.

This model features a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x curved panel with 120Hz refresh rate support, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Eye Comfort Shield, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and up to 2600 nits of peak brightness. It also has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the display.

The Ultra model will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all regions. The RAM is 12 GB, while the storage is up to 1 TB. The rear cameras seem to have been upgraded. While the 200MP primary sensor, 10MP telephoto sensor and 12MP ultra-wide sensor remain the same as the S23 Ultra, the fourth telephoto sensor has been replaced with a 50MP lens from the 10MP lens on the S23 Ultra. It offers 3x and 5x optical zoom. The front sensor is the same as its predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

The series will also include the Poco X6 Pro and the vanilla X6, both of which have been spotted on multiple certification sites. There is also a Poco X6 Neo that may debut. The brand has not confirmed anything officially about the models yet. However, the leak suggests that the Poco X6 series has a 6.67-inch 1.5K LTPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of built-in storage. The phone is expected to come with an Android 13-based operating system.

The Poco X6 Pro packs a triple rear camera with a 67-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The phone is said to have a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Series (January 8)

The Asus ROG Phone 8 series models will come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, as confirmed by the brand on Weibo. Additionally, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate has also appeared on Geekbench with the model number ASUS_AI2401_D. The list revealed that the phone can get Android 14 out of the box.

The device is expected to get a new design compared to ROG gaming smartphones from previous years, with a 5500mAh battery cell and 65W fast charging. The design of the device has already been leaked in images that hint at a new camera module and front panel design with similar bezels around the display. The devices will also be IP68 rated.

Asus is all set to launch Asus ROG Phone 8 on January 8. The Expected price of the Asus Rog Phone 8 could go up to Rs 70,000 while the ROG 8 Pro could launch at Rs 85,000 though there is not any confirmation from Asus.

The Reno 11 Pro features a 6.74-inch curved-edge OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 1240 x 2772 pixels, 1600 nits peak brightness, 450 ppi, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 32-megapixel f/2.4 front-facing camera. Its rear triple camera system includes an OIS-compatible 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 f/1.8 main camera, an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 32-megapixel f/2.0 telephoto camera with 2x zoom.

The Reno 11 Pro 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device packs a 4700mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

Oppo has confirmed that the smartphone will launch in Malaysia on January 11 and reports suggest that it could launch in India on the same date.
