While tech enthusiasts are still waiting for the release date of Google Pixel 5 and 4a, some details about its specs may have leaked.
With permission from Onleaks or Steve H. McFly, the screen will look almost like its predecessor: Pixel 4. The leaked report says that while today’s smartphones come with features like face recognition, only the new Google phones will have a standard fingerprint unit.
Rumors say that after previous Pixel smartphones failed to increase sales as expected, the company had to rethink its approach if it continued the streak. However, if the price had to be maintained, it would be wise for the phones to have a design similar to previous designs.
H.McFly on Twitter wrote that the Pixel 5 leaks “caused great confusion” and that there were already three models shown. In addition to Google Pixel 5 and 4a, there were also Pixel 5 XL and Pixel 5 XL 5G. Leaked offers from Onleaks showed that all three models should have triple-chamber back units.
The Pixel 4a also uses a rear fingerprint. Remember that Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL cut fingerprint recognition and adopted 3D facial recognition. However, all new products in 2020 use subsequent fingerprints. This obvious “reverse driving” approach seems illogical. Information cannot be confirmed at this time, and details cannot be revealed until this fall’s press conference.
The dimension of the Google Pixel 5 is reportedly around 144.6mm x 70.4mm x 8mm. If you add the camera bump, the thickness will increase to 9.5mm. This means that the Pixel 5 will be slightly smaller than the iPhone 11. Recent renderings show that the screen appears to be 5.5 inches or more, but the bezels are still thick. As usual, the bezel of this smartphone is symmetrical but the edges are round.
There is also information that the Pixel 5 will come with a USB Type-C port on the bottom. You’ll also use the Pixel speaker grills that look like a cutout. Unfortunately, the CAD renders do not show any headphone jack. From the pictures, the side of this smartphone uses different construction material. It will probably have an aluminum side like its predecessor. However, there is no confirmation of this. Based on Pigtou’s calculations, the Pixel 5 may come with a 5.78-inch OLED screen with QHD resolution. While there is no speculation about the exact sensor, this phone likely has two cameras on the back. At the front, there will be a single drilling chamber.
Although the leaked information cannot be confirmed yet, technologists are disappointed with these details as they seem to be backward. Official details can only be revealed this fall.
