Apple iPad Pro 2021 Launched with M1 Chip, mini-LED Display

In addition to the new M1-powered iMac, Apple today launched the Next-Gen Apple iPad Pro 2021 at its ‘Spring Loaded’ event. The biggest upgrade for these models should be the Apple M1 processor compared to the company’s A-Series chipset. With this launch, the Capertino giants have now converted their popular iMac, MacBook, Mac Mini and iPad lineups to the M1 chip.

Apple M1-Powered iPad Pro: Specifications

The design of the new iPad Pro lineup is very similar to its predecessor. You have an almost bezel-less display at the front and a dual-camera system at the back. While the 11-inch variant still includes a promotion display, the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro featuring the new Liquid Retina XDR display. Consistent with rumors, it is a mini-LED screen, which “uses more than 10,000 LEDs” behind the display of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

The panel boasts 1600-nits of peak-brightness and a 1-million-to-1 contrast ratio. In addition, Apple claims that you get 12.9-inch iPad Pro support for ProMotion, True Tone, and P3 Wide Color, HDR, and Dolby Vision.

Underneath the hood, the next-gen 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are powered by Apple M1 processors. The new 8-core CPU provides 50% faster CPU performance and 40% faster GPU performance than the 12Z Bionic. You get up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage.

Both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros now support USB 4 and Thunderbolt 3. As a TrueDepath camera system, Apple has a new 12MP ultra-wide sensor with a 12MP primary sensor, 122-degree FOV and accurate focus in low light conditions. And includes a leader sensor for detailed image capture.

Price and Availability

The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro’s Wi-Fi models start at $ 799 and $ 1,099, respectively. Wi-Fi + cellular models start at $ 999 and 1,299 respectively in the US.The next gen 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be available for purchase in two colors, namely Silver and Space Gray.
